Suspect in Prince George’s County Bank Robberies Arrested in Texas


Prince George’s County, Maryland…The Prince George’s County Police Department announces the arrest of 42 year-old Marvin Linius Simmons in connection with two bank robberies in Prince George’s County, Maryland.
On March 19, 2012, the U.S. Marshals Service arrested Simmons, of the 5400 block of Calhoun Street, Alexandria, Virginia.  Simmons was arrested in Donna, Texas which is near the Texas/Mexico border.   Simmons is currently being held at the Hildago County Jail where he is awaiting extradition to Maryland.
Detectives developed Simmons as a suspect during the course of their investigation.  Simmons would pass a note threatening to set-off a nuclear bomb if the teller would not give him the money.  An arrest warrant was obtained for him charging him with armed robbery.
