PGPD Investigates a Sexual Assault in Chillum



The Prince George’s County Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect who sexually assaulted a woman in the 5700 block of Cypress Creek Drive Chillum, Maryland.

On June 23, 2012, at approximately 3:43 a.m., a woman reported being approached by an unknown male suspect as she parked her vehicle. The suspect then produced a handgun and ordered the victim into the back seat of her vehicle where he sexually assaulted her. The suspect fled on foot after the sexual assault.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male approximately 20 years old. He weighs about 175 pounds. He was wearing a dark colored baseball cap, dark blue Adidas polo shirt with three horizontal white stripes across the chest, blue jeans. He was armed with a black handgun.

Police are reminding citizens to be mindful of their surroundings, walk in well-lit areas and walk in groups whenever possible.
