PGPD Investigates Fatal Pedestrian Collision in Bladensburg

The Prince George’s County Police Department is investigating a fatal pedestrian collision in Bladensburg.

On November 12, 2012, at approximately 7:30 pm, police officers responded to the 3800 block of Kenilworth Avenue for a traffic accident involving a pedestrian. Upon arrival, officers found 46 year-old Mary Katherine Harding suffering from life threatening injuries. She was rushed to a local hospital where she was later pronounced dead.

The preliminary investigation reveals that Harding, of the 2400 block of 57th Place in Bladensburg, attempted to cross Kenilworth Avenue when she was struck by two vehicles, a gold Chrysler 300M and a white Nissan Altima. The pedestrian was not in a crosswalk.  Both drivers remained on the scene.  At this time, it does not appear that speed or alcohol were a factor on the part of the drivers.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit at (301) 731-4422.
