Suspect Has Identifiable Tattoos on Face and Arms

Franklin Eugene Hunter

The Prince George’s County Police Department is seeking the community’s help in locating a suspect wanted for attempted murder and armed robbery in Capitol Heights.  The suspect is identified as 21-year-old Franklin Eugene Hunter of the 4700 block of B Street in Southeast Washington.  He has tattoos on his face and both of his forearms.

On May 7, 2013 at approximately 5:00 pm, patrol officers were called to the 1200 block of Elfin Avenue in Capitol Heights for a shooting.  The investigation revealed two victims were walking down Elfin Avenue when they were approached by two suspects.  One of the suspects pulled out a gun and demanded the victims’ property.  That’s when one of the victims tried to run away, but was shot in the leg as he tried to jump a fence.  The second victim was hit in the face by an unknown object by the second suspect.  Both suspects ran away.  The victim who was shot was taken to a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries and has since been released.  The second victim was treated on the scene.

Vaughn Kevin McPherson

Detectives were able to identify and arrest one of the suspects within 24 hours.  He is identified as 20-year-old Vaughn Kevin McPherson of the 3500 block of Pearl Drive in Capitol Heights.  Investigative developments led detectives to identify Hunter as the second suspect.  Both suspects face charges of attempted murder and armed robbery.
