PGPD Investigates Apparent Accidental Fatal Shooting


Updated January 9, 2014: The decedent is identified as 23-year-old Errick Lamar Pratt of the 13400 block of Caribou Court in Fort Washington.

The Prince George’s County Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting in Brandywine. Preliminarily, this shooting appears accidental.
On January 9, 2014, at about 1:35 am, patrol officers were called to a home in the 18700 block of Croom Road for a shooting. When they arrived, they found a man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead on scene.
The preliminary investigation reveals someone accidentally shot the decedent. Detectives are speaking with friends and family of the decedent who were in the home at the time. No charges have been filed in this case.
