PGPD Investigates Fatal Vehicle Collision in Fort Washington

The Prince George's County Police Department's Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal collision in Fort Washington. The victim is identified as 47-year-old James Fearing of Reserve Road in Accokeek.

On July 22, 2014, at about 5:40 pm, patrol officers were called to the intersection of Indian Head Highway and Old Fort Road for a report of a crash involving two cars. Fearing, one of the drivers, was pronounced dead on the scene.

The preliminary investigation reveals that Fearing was driving a SUV northbound on Indian Head Highway when he struck the rear of a car stopped at the intersection of Old Fort Road. The SUV then left the roadway and rolled over. The driver of the car was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Investigators are looking into whether speed was a factor in this crash.
