PGPD Investigates Fatal Pedestrian Collision Involving Train in Beltsville

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit is investigating a fatal pedestrian collision involving a MARC train in Beltsville.  The victim is identified as 41-year-old Ascenscion Guevara of Quimby Avenue in Beltsville.  This appears to be a tragic accident.

On December 15, 2014, at about 6:15 am, patrol officers were called to the 11600 block of Baltimore Avenue in Beltsville for a pedestrian collision involving a train. When they arrived, they found Guevara suffering from critical injuries.  He was pronounced dead on the scene.

The preliminary investigation reveals a Marc train was travelling from Muirkirk Station to Union Station.  Investigators believe Guevara was attempting to walk across the train tracks to visit a local coffee shop when he was struck.
