PGPD Arrests Suspect in Seat Pleasant Homicide

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit has charged a suspect in connection with a fatal shooting in Seat Pleasant. The suspect is 21-year-old Lafonzo Leonard Iracks of the 1600 block of E Street in Northeast Washington, DC. The victim is 21-year-old Keaway Lafonz Ivy of Washington, DC.

On April 1, 2015, at about 10:30 pm, officers responded to the 400 block of Eastern Avenue for the report of a shooting. When they arrived, they found Ivy in a parking lot suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

The preliminary investigation reveals both Ivy and Iracks were in the 400 block of Eastern Avenue shooting a music video. At some point, Iracks discharged his weapon, striking and killing Ivy. Iracks was apprehended by investigators this morning in Northeast DC.

Iracks is currently being held in Washington, DC awaiting extradition.
