Two Suspects in Custody in Oxon Hill Homicide

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit arrested two suspects in connection with a fatal shooting one week ago in Oxon Hill. The suspects are 22-year-old Diare Caldwell of the 1400 block of Southern Avenue in Oxon Hill and 22-year-old Darin Moore, Jr., of the 6200 block of Gabriel Street in Bowie.

On November 5, 2015, at about 3:05 am, patrol officers were called to the 1400 block of Southern Avenue for the report of a shooting. When they arrived, they found the victim, 39-year-old Edson Keister of Bowie, suffering from gunshot wounds. He died a short time later at a hospital.

During the course of the investigation, Caldwell and Moore were developed as suspects. The preliminarily investigation reveals the fatal shooting stemmed from a robbery attempt during a drug deal. The suspects were arrested at Caldwell’s apartment earlier this week. They are both charged with first and second degree murder and related charges. They are being held at the Department of Corrections on a no bond status.
