PGPD Investigates Homicide in Forestville

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit is investigating a homicide in Forestville. The victim is 32-year-old Rashaad Garnett Tate of 28th Street SE in Washington, DC. Preliminarily, detectives do not believe this was a random act. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.

On March 23, 2016, at about 5:20 am, patrol officers were called to the 5000 block of Hil Mar Drive. A man’s body had been found outside of a home. The investigation reveals the man had been shot and also set on fire. He was pronounced dead on the scene. The victim was later identified as Tate.

Detectives are working to identify the suspect(s) and establish a motive.
