Suspect in Cheverly Domestic-Related Double Homicide Found Dead in Virginia

The man who detectives charged with last night’s double homicide in Cheverly was found dead in Hanover County, Virginia, around 10:00 am today. It appears he died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The decedent is 30-year-old Kevin Tyrice Reynolds of the 6000 block of Cedar Post Drive in District Heights. Homicide detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Reynolds early this morning.

On March 7, 2016, at about 10:30 pm, patrol officers with the Cheverly Police Department and the Prince George’s County Police Department were called to the 6500 block of Landover Road for the report of a shooting. When they arrived, the officers found the two victims inside of an apartment suffering from gunshot wounds. Both victims were pronounced dead on the scene. The victims are 26-year-old Tareeka Jones of Landover Road in Cheverly and 22-year-old Jalisa Walls-Harris of Booth Bay Way in Bowie

The preliminary investigation reveals Reynolds and Jones had been in a romantic relationship. Jones and Walls-Harris are sisters.

The Hanover County Sheriff’s Office is investigating Reynold’s death.
