PGPD Investigates Homicide in Capitol Heights

The Prince George’s County Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting in Capitol Heights early this morning. The victim is 21-year-old Julian Mushington of Limerick Way in Landover. Preliminarily, detectives do not believe this was a random act. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.

The preliminary investigation reveals at about 1:30 am, Mushington was shot in the 7000 block of Shady Glen Terrace. He was then driven by an acquaintance to a nearby convenience store in the 7400 block of Central Avenue where that acquaintance flagged down a police officer for help. Mushington died a short time later at a hospital.

Detectives are working to identify the suspect(s) and establish a motive.
