WANTED WEDNESDAY

Residential Armed Robbery

 Our detectives are working to arrest two suspects who stole the pictured SUV during a residential robbery in Landover Hills. The preliminary investigation revealed two suspects forced their way into an apartment in the 4000 block of Warner Avenue on August 30th around 12:20 pm. The suspects stole personal items from the victims, including keys to this 2015 Toyota RAV4 with Maryland tags 8BP7965. The victims were not hurt. Drugstore Theft 

We’re also looking for this suspect who is wanted for a theft at a drugstore. The preliminary investigation revealed he stole cosmetic items from a store in the 11000 block of Baltimore Avenue on August 21st. If you recognize him, please call 301-937-0910 or Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS



Wallet Theft Investigation 

This suspect is accused of stealing a wallet in the 6300 block of Riverdale Road on August 7th at about 8:30 am. The investigation revealed he stole it from a victim who was sleeping inside of his car. The suspect reached into the victim’s pocket and grabbed the wallet. Gas Station Armed Robbery
Our Robbery Unit detectives need your help identifying this suspect who robbed a gas station in the 5100 block of John Rogers Boulevard. He targeted the business on August 26th at about 2:30 am. Our investigation revealed the suspect entered the store, pointed a handgun at the victim and demanded cash. Once he had the money, he ran out. If you know these suspects, please call 301-772-4905. PGPD to Conduct Sobriety Checkpoint


The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Special Operations Division will be conducting a sobriety checkpoint on Friday, September 2, 2016, from 9:00 pm to 3:00 am. Officers will be focusing on the northern portion of the county.

Detectives to Canvass Seat Pleasant Neighborhood in Homicide Investigation


This evening, detectives will canvass a Seat Pleasant neighborhood to gather information in the fatal shooting of 37-year-old Oscar Colindres Garcia. Investigators will pass out Crime Solvers flyers with a composite sketch of the suspect.



On August 17th, at about 11:50 pm, officers with the Seat Pleasant Police Department were called to the 7200 block of Joplin Street for a shooting. Officers found the victim in his car outside of his home suffering from a gunshot wound. He died several hours later.

The suspect is an African-American male, between the ages of 20-30, 5’10”-6’0” and weighs about 185-200 pounds.

The canvass is expected to begin at 6:00 pm in the 7200 block of Joplin Street.

Detectives Release Sketch of Suspect in Seat Pleasant Homicide


The Prince George's County Police Department is asking for the community's help in identifying the suspect in this composite sketch. He is wanted for the fatal shooting of 37-year-old Oscar Colindres Garcia in Seat Pleasant last week. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.

On August 17th, at about 11:50 pm, officers with the Seat Pleasant Police Department were called to the 7200 block of Joplin Street for a shooting. Officers found the victim in his car outside of his home suffering from a gunshot wound. He died several hours later.

The suspect is an African-American male, between the ages of 20-30, 5’10”-6’0” and weighs about 185-200 pounds.

Detectives to Canvass Suitland Neighborhood in Homicide Investigation



This evening, detectives with our Homicide Unit will canvass a Suitland neighborhood to gather information in the fatal shooting of 18-year-old Douglas Brooks.

On August 21st, at about 1:05 am, patrol officers were called to the 3600 block of Parkway Terrace Drive for a shooting. They found Brooks outside suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead on the scene. 

Detectives are working to identify a motive in this case. The canvass is expected to begin at 6:00 pm in the 4500 block of  Silver Hill Road.

We’re starting Wanted Wednesday this week with pictures and video of a suspect wanted in connection with Saturday’s homicide of 31-year-old Taiwo Oduwole, a convenience store employee in Clinton. The video is from the hotel the suspect robbed on Saturday following the fatal shooting. Thanks to our federal partners at the FBI, the reward for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this homicide now stands at $50,000. Gas Station Robbery

Our Robbery Unit detectives need your help identifying a suspect who robbed a gas station in the 6700 block of Riverdale Road. He targeted the business on August 20th at about 6:20 am. Our investigation revealed the suspect entered the store posing as a customer. The suspect took cash out of the register and grabbed cigarettes. Armed Robbery Investigation

These suspects are wanted in connection with the robbery of a nursing home in the 6500 block of Riggs Road. They stole medications after approaching the nurse’s station and striking an employee. The victim suffered minor injuries. Detectives Investigate Fatal Shooting in Upper Marlboro

Detectives with our Homicide Unit are conducting an investigation into the death of a man in Upper Marlboro. He is 22-year-old Damien Rowlett of Medallion Terrace in Upper Marlboro.

On August 21
st, at about 1:30 am, patrol officers responded to the 3600 block of Endsley Place for a shooting. Upon arrival, patrol officers found Rowlett suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead a short time later at the hospital.

PGPD Searches for Missing Teen

Destiny Sidibe

The Prince George’s County Police Department is seeking the public’s help in searching for a missing teenager. She’s 13-year-old Destiny Sidibe. She was last seen on Eastern Avenue in Hyattsville on August 17th around 6:30pm.

Sidibe is described as an African American female, 4’8”, 120 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. She was wearing a red shirt, black leggings and black shoes. She has a burn mark on her right arm.

Detectives Investigate Homicide in Suitland

Detectives with our Homicide Unit are working to identify and arrest the suspect(s) who shot and killed 18-year-old Douglas Mryon Brooks of Parkway Terrace Drive in Suitland. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case. Preliminarily, detectives do not believe this was a random crime.

Detectives today released surveillance video of the suspect wanted in connection with this homicide. The video is from the hotel the suspect robbed on Saturday following the fatal shooting. Homicide Unit detectives released this surveillance photo of the man wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of a convenience store employee in Clinton this morning. The victim is 31-year-old Taiwo Oduwole of Canadian Geese Court in Upper Marlboro. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case. 

On August 20th, at about 4:50 am, patrol officers were called to the 9700 block of Brandywine Road for a shooting. The officers found Oduwole inside of the business suffering from gunshot wounds. He died a short time later at a hospital. 

The preliminary investigation reveals the suspect intended to rob the store. During that robbery attempt, the victim was shot. 



Detectives believe the same suspect robbed a hotel in the 7900 block of Malcolm Road in Clinton a short time after the shooting.

Suspect Faces Assault & Weapons Charges After Officer-Involved Shooting

The Prince George’s County Police Department is investigating an officer-involved shooting in Capitol Heights. The Special Investigative Response Team (SIRT) and our Criminal Investigation Division are leading the investigation. The suspect is 27-year-old Terrence Turbo Franklin of the 1600 block of Eastern Avenue in Capitol Heights. He’s facing charges of first and second degree assault, reckless endangerment and several gun-related charges. 

On August 18, 2016, at about 9:50 pm, police officers assigned to our Narcotic Enforcement Division and Special Assignment Team, were conducting a surveillance operation on Franklin. He is a suspect in several violent crimes. The preliminary investigation reveals officers located him driving in the area of Central Avenue and Shady Glen Drive. Officers in marked cruisers activated their lights and attempted to stop Franklin who had pulled over onto Shady Glen Drive. He sped away from the officers and jumped out of his car a short distance away on Shady Glen Terrace. He was armed with a gun. He began to run from officers who were now chasing him on foot. Several yards away, Franklin turned and pointed a gun at officers. An officer discharged an assigned duty weapon, striking Franklin in the arm. No officers were hurt.



A handgun with an extended magazine was recovered at the scene. The weapon was reported stolen in North Carolina in 2014. Franklin is a convicted felon and is prohibited from possessing any firearms. He is being held on a no-bond status.

The involved officer is Police Officer First Class Brandon Farley. He’s a four-year veteran and is assigned to the Bureau of Patrol, District III. He is on routine administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.

Robbery Suspect

We begin this week with this brazen suspect. Please take a close look. He forced his way into a U-Haul storage facility located in the 4500 block of Allentown Road near closing time and  demanded money from employees. During the course of the robbery, he pointed a gun at a victim and pulled the trigger. Thankfully, the gun did not fire. The suspect was able to make off with nearly $1,000. Robbery Investigation

These suspects are wanted in connection with the robbery of a Rite Aid in the 10000 block of Baltimore Avenue in Beltsville. Commercial Burglary

ATM Armed Robbery

The Homicide Unit is investigating a fatal shooting in Glenarden. The victim is 30-year-old Eric Johnson of Hobart Street in Glenarden. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case. 

On August 13th, at about 2:00 am, officers with the City of Glenarden Police Department and Prince George’s County Police Department were called to the 8100 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Hwy for the report of a shooting. The officers found Johnson outside suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Detectives Investigate Homicide in Clinton

The Homicide Unit is investigating a fatal shooting in Clinton. The victim is 24-year-old Reginald Lewis of Oak Leaf Court in Clinton. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case. 

On August 10th, at about 12:30 pm, patrol officers were called to the area of Butterfield Drive and Chris Mar Avenue for the report of a shooting. The officers found Lewis in a roadway suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Suspect Linked To Four Robberies

   (August 3rd) 

(July 18th)

We’re starting Wanted Wednesday this week with pictures of a suspect detectives believe is linked to a string of commercial armed robberies in Oxon Hill. The first two robberies took place at the same cell phone store in the 5000 block of Indian Head Highway. He targeted the store on August 3rd and on July 18th. In both cases, the suspect had a gun. Once he grabbed cash, he ran toward Audrey Lane.

(August 5th)

On August 5th, the suspect robbed a 7-11 around 10:55 pm in the 5600 block of Saint Barnabas Road. Please take a close look at this suspect and call 301-772-4905 or 1-866-411-TIPS with any information.  

(August 6th)

On August 6th, the suspect robbed a pizza restaurant in the 5300 block of Indian Head Highway. He approached an employee, demanded cash and then ran from the store. Detectives Arrest Man in Non-Fatal Shooting at Laurel Home

The Prince George’s County Police Department has arrested a man in connection with yesterday’s non-fatal shooting at a Laurel home. The preliminary investigation reveals a homeowner shot a man who broke into his home. The homeowner is a Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission Police Officer who was off duty at the time of the intrusion. The suspect is identified as 31-year-old David Bartholmew of the 8100 block of Gorman Avenue in Laurel.

On August 7th, 2016, at about 1:00 pm, patrol officers were called to the 8000 block of Briarcroft Lane for the report of a breaking and entering. Upon arriving to the area, officers found the suspect with a gunshot wound to his arm. He was taken to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injury.

The preliminary investigation reveals the homeowner was alerted by a loud noise from the downstairs portion of his residence. At that time, the homeowner retrieved his duty weapon and found the suspect in his residence. He identified himself as a police officer. The suspect then advanced toward the homeowner with a knife in his hand. The homeowner, fearing for his safety, shot the suspect one time. A knife was recovered from the scene. The suspect fled from the residence and was arrested a short distance away by responding officers.

Preliminarily, there is no known connection between the homeowner and the suspect. The suspect remains hospitalized receiving treatment for his injuries. The suspect has been charged with home invasion, attempted first degree assault, malicious destruction of property and a weapons charge.

PGPD Searches for Missing Woman

Updated August 29, 2016: On August 28th, the body of Ms. Butler was discovered in a rural area in Orrstown, Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania State Police are conducting a death investigation. Preliminarily, there does not appear to be any foul play. We offer her family our deepest condolences.

The Prince George’s County Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in searching for a missing person. She is identified as 79-year-old Mary Butler.

Butler was last seen in the area of Indian Head Highway in Fort Washington on August 5th, at 10:25 am. Ms. Butler could be driving a silver Toyota Corolla, bearing Maryland registration 5BX1273.
