Detectives to Canvass in Mount Rainier Homicide Investigation





This evening, Homicide Unit detectives will canvass a Mount Rainier neighborhood in their investigation into the fatal shooting of German Garcia-Paredes of Newark Road in Brentwood. The 25 year old was killed on Saturday. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case. Tipsters will never have to give their names.

On August 5th, at about 6:15 am, patrol officers with the Mount Rainier Police Department responded to the 3500 block of Rhode Island Avenue to check on the welfare of a man found on the sidewalk. When they arrived, the officers discovered the victim suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Detectives are working to identify a suspect(s) and motive in this case.

The canvass is scheduled for 5:30 pm today and will begin in the 3500 block of Rhode Island Avenue.

The Prince George’s County Police Department investigates all homicides within the City of Mount Rainier.
